Cardboard Chairs
For this project, we were supposed to choose an old project and make it better, but we decided to try something new and build cardboard chairs. We didn't realize how hard it was going to be until we got started. We researched a bunch of designs and made many models. Finally we decided on a design that seemed the best. We decided to make one chair using cardboard tubes and another just making boxes inside the chair.
Concepts
Center of gravity- A point from which the weight of a body or system may be considered to act. This is also known as center of mass.
Compressive strength- The resistance of a material to breaking under compression.

Reflection
I really liked this project. The chairs came out pretty good and they both worked at one point. We sadly only ended up having one chair work. I think it would have been a lot better if we didn't have a limited amount of cardboard. I was glad that the cardboard tubes worked and it looks really cool. Making the X's in the backs of the chair helped a lot and made the chair sturdier. If I were to do it again I would probably make more than three horizontal pieces of cardboard on the back of the chair and maybe make more than three vertical ones as well. Over all our final project was pretty good and I am proud of it.
